Nature of the Examination
The Comprehensive Aptitude Test is a nationally unified entrance examination with selective character, designed for universities and research institutes recruiting professional-degree postgraduate students in management. Its purpose is to test, in a scientific, fair, and effective manner, whether candidates possess the basic qualities, general abilities, and potential for development that are required for pursuing a professional degree. The standard of assessment is the pass level or above achievable by graduates of institutions of higher education, so that universities and research institutes can select the best candidates professionally and ensure the enrollment quality of professional-degree postgraduate students.

It does not test specialized knowledge of logic as a discipline. The subject matter of the questions covers various fields such as nature, society, and the humanities, but it does not test specialized knowledge of the related fields.

Analysis of Argument Validity The question stem of an Analysis of Argument Validity task is a flawed argument; candidates are required to analyze the problems in it, select several key points, and comment on the validity of the argument. The analytical points for this type of question are: whether the concepts in the argument are clear, whether the judgments are accurate, whether the reasoning is rigorous, and whether the argumentation is sufficient, among others. The essay is expected to have appropriate analysis, sufficient reasoning, a rigorous structure, and appropriate language.

Argumentative Essay The argumentative essay has two forms: an assigned-topic essay and a free-topic essay based on written material. Each examination uses one of the two forms. Candidates are required, on the basis of an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the question, to analyze the viewpoint given in the assigned topic or the material, state their own viewpoint, and argue for it. The essay is expected to have wholesome thinking, a clear viewpoint, sufficient evidence, rigorous argumentation, a reasonable structure, and fluent language.
Analysis of the Mathematics Syllabus
